Trailer Rebuild - Part 2
I decided it was time to replace the floor on the 'big' trailer. After I took it to Thornberry to pick up my tractor, (around 2021 or so) I found that it had some REALLY weak parts in the floor. Took the tractor back to its home in Byers. When I went back out later, I notice the critters had chewed the back center brake light wires off. They had also chewed (and hauled off) the connector that plugs into the vehicle. This is the project to fix all that.

This was the starting point for the trailer floor. The first time the tractor went on the trailer I was scared. The front end dipped down when going over some of it.
Next step was to start peeling back the layers.

It's kinda hard to see, but at some point, parts of this trailer floor were on fire.
This is some of the 'hardware' that was used to attach the plywood to the original floor.

Found a bunch of rebar under the original floor. It varied in size from 1/4 inch to 1 inch, in all different lengths. Have no idea how it got there or why it was there.
One of the tack welds broke loose on the side panels on the way out to Byers the first trip. While I had all the floorboards removed, I went ahead and welded all the panels back in place.

Finally got all the wood removed.
After all the 'floor' was removed I was able to hit the metal with a stripping disk.

The stripping disks did a great job knocking down the rust and got the trailer ready for a coat of paint. The paint was not a 'last forever' paint job, just one help prolong the life of the trailer.
Got all the inner panels welded in and all painted.

I didn't get pics of all the destruction the critters did on the wiring but here is one.

Tried to protect the wiring as much as possible.

Even made some gourmets out of hot glue so I could use the existing holes.

Boards finally went back in.

The finished product.
